1975
MASTERS TOURNAMENT

“1975 At Augusta”

Put “1975 At Augusta” into your DVD player, then sit back and enjoy one of the most exciting and still talked about Masters Tournaments in history! You’ll be going back in time more than 30 years and re-living the excitement of the 1975 Masters Tournament at Augusta, Georgia, won by golf legend Jack Nicklaus! Still remembered to this day as one of the most exciting Masters ever played, Jack’s one stroke victory over Tom Weiskopf and young Johnny Miller gave him a record 5th Green Jacket and left the spectators limp at the finish!

At the end of Friday’s play, Nicklaus has a five stroke lead. Weiskopf is six back and Miller is still nowhere in contention. On Saturday however, Miller astounds the galleries by scoring six straight birdies and posting a new record score 30 on the front nine holes! Weiskopf also has a great round (66) on Saturday to lead the tournament and Nicklaus by one stroke. Miller, paired with Weiskopf on Sunday, is five back to start the day, but steadily moves up on Nicklaus and Weiskopf. On the back nine, Johnny is now only two behind, while Weiskopf and Nicklaus have been jockeying for the lead throughout the day. The tournament turns at the 16th hole when Nicklaus cans a 50-foot putt for birdie, tying him with Weiskopf, who then hits only a short drive to the 16th. Weiskopf’s bogey on 16 brings about a two stroke change among the leaders. Miller holes a spectacular putt on 17 to pull to within one stroke of the lead. Jack pars 18 and has only a one shot lead as the final twosome of Weiskopf and Miller hit their final drives. Both second shots (especially Weiskopf’s) leave excellent birdie opportunities, but both well-struck birdie attempts just miss and both Weiskopf and Miller tie for second with matching 277’s.

This DVD will bring back memories of all those great golfers as they looked a generation ago: Arnold Palmer, Sam Snead, Hubie Green, defending champion Gary Player, Billy Casper, Jumbo Ozaki, first day leader Bobby Nichols, Tom Watson, Jerry Pate, Larry Ziegler and Lee Trevino. Lee Elder becomes the first black American Golfer to play in the Masters. Arnold Palmer introduces the film for Cadillac and Tournament Chairman and club co-founder Clifford Roberts talks about the significance of the 1975 tournament before the action begins.

1974 winner Gary Player congratulates Nicklaus following the tournament by helping him into the coveted Green jacket, as Jack Nicklaus at the age of 35 has won his 5th Masters!
