ST. LOUIS CARDINALS
vs
NEW YORK METS

NBC BASEBALL “Game of the Week” PARTIAL TV BROADCAST
From
Shea Stadium, New York
Saturday Afternoon, June 24, 1972

Another rare broadcast treasure is now available on DVD to baseball fans everywhere – only from Rare Sportsfilms, Inc! Three and a half innings of the original NBC TV broadcast of the June 24 game at Shea Stadium are now available for the first time ever on this new 49-minute B&W DVD made directly from the original kinescope! Announcers Curt Gowdy and Tony Kubek call the play-by-play action, and this DVD shows the second through top of the 5th innings of play! The opposing pitchers are Reggie Cleveland of the Cardinals, and Met ace Tom Seaver. The DVD begins with the Cardinals coming to bat in the top of the second inning, already leading, 3-0.

Even partial-game TV broadcasts from before the days of home VCRs (1975) are very rare. This is the oldest segment of any regular season TV broadcast involving the Cardinals known to exist, and now you can go back a generation in time and watch the action unfold once again at old Shea Stadium, New York!
