1963 and 1964
ST LOUIS CARDINALS

In 1963 under second year head coach Wally Lemm the football Cardinals were about to embark upon their most successful period of the ‘60’s. With young quarterback Charlie Johnson at the helm tossing passes to Bobby Joe Conrad and Sonny Randle and runners John David Crow and Prentice Gautt carrying the ball, St. Louis won 19 games in 1963-1964. During ’63, injuries to Crow and Gautt moved Bill Triplett and Joe Childress into the backfield where both finished in the top 10 in NFL rushing. By 1964 Crow was back, along with rookie Willis Crenshaw and behind a stronger offensive line they took the Cardinals to a 9-3-2 season and a win over the Green Bay Packers in the annual Playoff Bowl in Miami. In these films Cardinal fans can once again see all their 1960’s heroes in action: Ed Cook, Ernie McMillan, Larry Wilson, Jim Bakken, Bob DeMarco, Bill Koman, Buddy Humphrey, Bob Paremore, John Symank, Billy Stacy, Jimmy Hill, Pat Fischer, Taz Anderson, Marion Rushing, Irv Goode, Garland Boyette, Joe Robb, Ken Gray, Jim Burson, Larry Stallings, Sam Silas, Dale Meinert, Dave Meggyesy, Monk Bailey, Tom Redmond, Mal Hammack and rookies Jerry Stovall, Bill Thornton, Billy Gambrell and Jackie Smith.
